His Grace is Sufficient for the Cares of Life

For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. Psalm 84:11

Oftentimes, I take a moment and breathe deeply when I feel overwhelmed, eager, and consumed by the cares of life; especially, the cares that I can not change or control. It is then that I reflect on the operation of the Holy Spirit in my life. Everything that is good and wonderful is a gift from God. Sometimes, I believe that I see the pattern, of how these gifts are obtained. Rarely have I done anything noble, magnificent, or deserving. It is God’s grace through the blood of Jesus Christ that is worthy to be praised. Even in the struggles, when my flesh cringes, I pray my spirit always honors and find refuge in God, that I might be able to stand. I pray that I am not afraid of failure and that my actions will always be pleasing in the sight of God…Praise the Lord! His grace is sufficient.

Words challenge me to string them together in such a way that express what I desire to say when it comes to grace…unmerited favor from God. It is this favor through the blood of Jesus Christ that makes me desire to live right. It is this unmerited favor that helps me to want for nothing that God does not choose to give. It is because of this unmerited favor, that I believe that the gifts I receive are the gifts I need. I am totally dependent on this unmerited favor, as I grow in grace and learn to lean on God for the paths of my life. A friend of mine asked me just the other day, about asking God for something…I replied that I pray for many things…and just as I ask my Father God for many things…I believe that he does for us what we can not do for ourselves. Down through the years, I have discovered that God knows better then me what I need…I try not to pray thoughtlessly. The older I get, I find that my prayers ask for less and less and contain more and more praise; and on a very good day, there is real conversation and I get up off my knees wiser then I came. Help me Lord. Please have mercy on me. Thank You for Your saving grace. To God be the glory, in Your Son Jesus Name.

The Beatitudes
Mathew 5:3-12
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

God Bless…In Jesus name I pray…Be Happy and Do Good!
