New Chapter, New Journey, New Adventures…
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. ≈ Isaiah 40:31
The older we get, the easier it is to talk ourselves out of our dreams and to pretend that we don’t hear what “Thus says the Lord”. The smarter we become, the more we attempt to reason with God, especially, when His plan doesn’t align with our goals or the road gets rough. But, how wonderful, it is when we get the courage to proclaim … “Yes, I hear You Lord and submit to Your Will.”
This morning, I listened to a video recording of the speech that Tyler Perry, correction Dr. Tyler Perry, gave at Tuskegee University’s commencement ceremony. I was deeply motivated and wonderfully inspired. He shared words of wisdom for anyone, who had a mind to hear.
His words about one’s “intention” redirected my focus. His testimony on his “struggles” reaffirmed my dedication. His humility on the “challenges” of a seven-year journey to success, reinforced my strength. His attitude on “embracing” oneself, made me feel proud. His understanding that a “foundation” is not seen, but essential for endurance, inspired me. His statement on “recognizing” foes standing next to you, gave me courage. His desire to “give back” reflected his admirable character. And his call on “Jesus” revealed, the source of who he is in my opinion. Thank you God that three years ago, on May 1, 2013, with a leap of faith, I applied to divinity school and now I am a candidate for graduation on May 14, 2016. Many didn’t see the vision, which You shared with me. Others questioned my good judgement. There were numerous times when I doubted, if I would make it. But on this day, a few days before graduation, I just happened to scroll down my Facebook page, see a video, and stop to listen. Maybe it wasn’t just happenstance…
Thank You, Jesus, for favor, grace and mercy. Please continue to encourage each of us, no matter our age, our circumstances, or what others think we deserve, as we abide in Your love. Let us never give up on ourselves or our dreams. Let us, keep believing in what “Thus says the Lord.” For, we can soar on wings of eagles, guided by the wind of Your limitless power. Thank You, for this new chapter, new journey, and new adventures.
God Bless… I am Wiley’s granddaughter.
