For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. ~ Jeremiah 31:25
When weather conditions are just right. Each blade of grass sparkles with tiny droplets of water that seems to come from out of nowhere. Seeing dew in the early morning sunshine, reminds me of the refreshing power of God. That unmerited favor—from living water—that can refresh our exhausted souls.
In the Bible, refreshing water has both physical and spiritual meanings. Cool refreshing water (Proverbs 25:25; John 4:14; Judges 15:18-19; Isaiah 44:3) revives us when we’re weary. It replenish us when we’ve done our best and still fall short. Restores us when we’re defeated. Renews us when all our strength is gone. It’s important to remember that refreshing water comes through the love of Jesus Christ.
So, if your soul is thirsty. If you need the healing power of living water, recommit yourself to draw closer to your God. Be still and fellowship with Him. Take time to stop and smell the roses covered in morning dew. Stand in awe of all that God has provided for your benefit.
Then enjoy the peace and contentment that only God’s love brings. Knowing that the living water has refreshed your soul.
